Gearing up for their doctorates in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Utah, Shaila Collins is the newest recipient of the Gerald and Barbara Stringfellow Fellowship and Steven Tran has been honored with the Greg and Debra Treseder Fellowship.
Collins found her passion for electrical engineering early on in high school and has been an active voice in inspiring the next generation of women in STEM. As she continues her education with an emphasis in electromagnetics, Collins hopes to empower other female students by spreading awareness about the issues they may face.
Tran graduated from Boise State University and is interested in system integration, digital circuit design and semiconductors. Like Collins, Tran hopes to one day use his knowledge to positively impact communities around the world.
